Type of Service: VIP Venetian Islands: Murano, Burano & Torcello by Private Water Taxi

Murano, Burano, and Torcello are only a quick boat ride away from Venice, but each has a unique feel that you can explore on this day trip! With a small group of only 15 people, an air-conditioned, private water taxi and complimentary prosecco on board, you’ll feel like a VIP as you escape the crowds of Venice and head to the charming, smaller islands of the Venetian lagoon.

Begin your day by meeting at a central point in Venice to board your luxury boat. On the way to your first stop, you’ll be introduced to the history of the Venetian Islands by your expert, local guide. Murano is famous for its glassmaking craftsmen, and there’s no better way to experience the island than by visiting one of its famous glass factories. Here, you’ll see a live demonstration by a master artisan and visit a private gallery to view some of their most beautifully intricate pieces

Your next stop is the peaceful island of Torcello. Descriptively called “the garden of Venice”, it’s a wonderful respite in the middle of your tour, filled with lush greenery and beautiful flowers. While in Torcello, you’ll have free time to wander the gardens or climb to the top of the local bell tower for views overlooking the lagoon.

Then, make your way to Burano, the most colorful island of Venice! Perfect for a photo op, this tiny island is known for vibrantly colored cottages and its highly skilled lacemakers. You’ll meet the artisans keeping the Venetian lace tradition alive and have time to discover the city streets on your own, with recommendations from your local guide.

Type of Service: Hidden Venice Food Tour with Rialto Market, Cicchetti and Gondola Ride - small group tour

Are you looking for the best food tour in Venice? Embark on a foodie led exploration of Venetian culture that takes you off the beaten path.  With a friendly, English-speaking guide by your side, visit some of our favorite bacari wine bars to sample assorted cicchetti dishes. Get a taste of local Venice food culture and learn about the city as you fill your belly with the best regional wine and food.

Cicchetti and Bacari - there are two words that are very important to learn when visiting Venice - cicchetti and bacari.  The word cicchetti comes from Venetian dialect, meaning "a small savory snack".  They are served at various little bacari (local wine bars) and come in many delicious varieties. Your local Venetian guide will explain many of the traditions involving why people visited bacari during the day (even in the morning!).

Prosecco for Breakfast - In a city known throughout the world for its many islands and canals, most people think that they have Venice figured out. What they don't know is that there is so much more to discover, especially gastronomically. The first stop on this Venice food tour introduces you to a tasty side of Venice that not many experiences, starting with some bubbly wine for breakfast. Don’t worry, you’ll have a bite to eat as well. A Hop, Skip and a Gondola - A trip to Venice wouldn't be complete without a ride on a gondola. Instead of taking the regular route and crossing Venice's Grand Canal by bridge, your local guide will take you across the water on a short, 2-minute gondola taxi ride! Get your cameras ready.

Mercato Rialto - The Rialto Market has been around for centuries. Early Venetian settlers used to come to this area to trade goods, and to this day, not much has changed. Today, Venetian vendors continue to gather here and offer locally-grown produce and fish.

The Spritz - After sampling some cicchetti and prosecco at your first stop, taste another popular drink in Venice at our second bacaro stop. Whether you have a sweet tooth or prefer bitter drinks, there is a Spritz for everyone. The Campari Spritz has a higher alcohol content than an Aperol Spritz; it also tastes more bitter than sweet. If you’ve ever seen pictures of people drinking a bright orange cocktail from a stemmed glass in Italy, that’s an Aperol Spritz. Both drinks are made with prosecco.

Ombra and Lunch - An ombra in Venice is a small glass of wine; ombra means “shade” in Italian. Legend has it that in the old days, wine was sold near the bell tower of San Marco's square in the shade. So the people would say "let's go drink in the shade by the bell tower”. Today it has been shortened to just one word - ombra. At the third stop, taste some of the local favorite ombra, as you sit down for a delicious lunch that includes some of the best pasta in Venice.

Gelato in Venice - No Italian foodie experience is complete without some gelato. On this guided tour of Venice, learn how to spot authentic gelato from the kind with additives in one of Venice's best "gelateria" (gelato shops).

You may feel like staying out in Venice exploring after the tour ends, or if you might need a rest after all the eating and drinking. If you're ready to head home, your guide will happily show you where to catch the nearest "vaporetto" (water taxi) so you can cruise back to your accommodations for an afternoon nap.

Type of Service: Venice Doge's Palace Secret Itineraries Tour - small group tour

Are you looking for something different to do in Venice? If so, this Doge's Palace Secret Itineraries Tour is for you. Enter areas of the palace that few are permitted to access. Delve into the darker side of Venice as our local guide takes you back in time with stories of crime, betrayal and the brutal legal system that once kept Venice in check. This two hour includes:
Meet your guide outside Doge's Palace. Before skipping the line to enter, admire the building’s exterior and learn about its history, St. Mark’s Square and the city of Venice. The Doge's Palace, or Palazzo Ducale in Italiano, is a perfect example of Venetian Gothic architecture in Venice. Once home to the Doge when the city was a Republic, the palace sits next to St. Mark's BasilicaThe interior of the Doge's Palace is grand to say the least. Inside you’ll find marble fireplaces, friezes and stucco adorning the walls. Some works of art stand out over the rest and our guide will lead you straight to them. As you walk into a bright courtyard in the middle of the palace's apartments, the grandeur is overwhelming. Then, through a secret door, access an area restricted to the general public. It is here that the your Doge's Palace Secret Itineraries adventure begins.

Visit the small wet detention cells, called wells, or pozzi. Taking a closer look, our guide will point out drawings and writings on the walls that help tell the story of those kept prisoner in these dark and damp conditions. Then, take a small stairway nearby to two rooms that once housed members of the Council of Ten who governed the Republic of Venice from 1310-1797. Then, see the Office of the Great Chancellor, the man in charge of Venice's General Archives.

Next is the Doge's Palace torture chamber.  Also known as the Chamber of Torment, the room is directly linked to the prisons. Inside, learn about the common methods of torture used during interrogation. Next door, you'll find more prison cells called piombi These cells weren’t quite as gruesome as the pozzi found on the lower levels - piombiheld political prisoners and those serving only short prison terms. One man, however, kept in both in the pozzi and the piombi, was the Italian adventurer and author, Giacomo Casanova. Visit his cell and learn about his fascinating story.

The Bridge of Sighs, or Ponte dei Sospiri, connects the Doge's Palace interrogation chamber to the new prison cells. Linking freedom with incarceration, the prisoners were walked across this bridge before spending years or even the remainder of their lives behind bars. If that wasn’t enough to sigh about, the small windows carved into the bridge offered convicts their last glance of beautiful Venice.

At the end of your Doge's Palace Secret Itineraries tour, you may either stay inside Doge's Palace and explore more in your own time, or return to St. Mark's Square.

Type of Service: Half Day Venetian Islands: Murano Glassblowing and Burano Lacemaking - group tour

Most first-time visitors to Venice spend the majority of their time around its famous Saint Mark's Square. Those with a bit more time in Italy also fit in a visit to Murano, a nearby island. This is the place to go if you're interested in the famed Murano glass, where you can watch a demonstration of glass making and maybe buy a Venetian glass souvenir or two.

Burano has been occupied from the 6th century, but it only became important in the 16th century, when women on the island began making lace with needles and it became popular among the European elite. It’s a fine art form and takes an incredible amount of patience and time to create. So as you can imagine, it’s a luxury few can afford. Most of the lace that's for sale in souvenir shops are affordable, so it's not created by hand. Still, it's beautiful and the shops are worth visiting.

Venetian Islands Tour: Murano Glassblowing & Burano Lacemaking - No trip to Venice is complete without discovering the Venetian Lagoon's two most cherished islands. This half-day trip to Murano from Venice with Burano offers perks not usually found on other group tours, like transport by private water taxi and a dedicated guide throughout. Gain perspective on the ageless arts of glassblowing and lacemaking and the mastery of artisans, as well as delight in the unique charm of the tranquil canals and piazzas.

Take a Private Water Taxi to Murano - Once you reach the meeting point in central Venice, you'll be whisked off to Murano to see its world-famous blown glass. On the way, admire the 'City of Bridges' from the water with sweeping views and entertaining commentary from your guide as you get ready to witness the magic of Murano glass.

All glassmaking was moved to this tiny group of islands in the Middle Ages, and it was the only place where mirrors were made for centuries. Techniques were so secret that perpetrators risked execution for leaking them. Times have changed, but you'll behold exactly what has made Murano glass so sought after for nearly 750 years.

Learn More with our Expert Guides - Upon arrival, you'll dock at a specially chosen glassblowing workshop where you'll marvel as craftsmen shape molten glass into dazzling works of art. See these sparkling treasures come to life as you learn how colors and the most ambitious shapes come to be. You can also browse in the gallery, or shop with our discount. Afterward, explore Murano to enjoy its sleepy canals and San Donato church, a stunning example of Byzantine architecture, without being hurried.

Discover the Finest Handmade Lace at Burano - The next stop on your Venice cruise is Burano. Considered by many as one of the most colorful places in the world, this small fishing community with its brightly colored houses also has some of the finest handmade lace anywhere. Type of Service: Best of Venice with St. Mark's Basilica and Gondola Ride - small group tour

Your two-and-a-half-hour Best of Venice Tour with Gondola Ride shows off the grandeur and mystique of this once-powerful maritime republic from two entirely different perspectives. First, we’ll seek out the Floating City’s most sought after sights on foot, enjoying skip-the-line entry to spectacular St. Mark’s Basilica, as well as special access to the Basilica’s terrace. We’ll also explore some lesser-known corners of the city where the essence of Venetian living is writ large, before hitting the canals for that most quintessential of Venetian experiences, an unforgettable gondola ride to explore the city’s beauty from the water.

Meet your local expert guide in the city center for the first portion of the tour exploring the city on foot. As you weave your way through the twisting back streets, cobbled courtyards and small arched bridges, your expert guide will regale you with tales from Venice’s colorful past. You’ll discover why the city was built on a lagoon, how it came to be an important center of trade and what events conspired to end its domination over much of the Mediterranean. You’ll walk by Marco Polo’s house and hear about how the Venetian merchant set off to sea one day and returned with tales of faraway eastern lands that in those days few had ever seen. You’ll stroll across the church and palace-lined piazzas of Campo SS Giovanni e Paolo and Campo Santa Maria Formosa, where Byzantine, Renaissance, and modern elements fuse together their timeless portraits of the city, and also glimpse the fabled Bridge of Sighs, said to be named after the sighing prisoners as they were escorted across the canal to the cells of the adjacent prison.

After marveling at the elegance of St. Mark’s Square, which Napoleon fondly described as the “finest drawing room in all of Europe”, we’ll breeze past the entry lines and head straight into St. Mark’s Basilica. Together with your guide, you’ll uncover the diverse treasures inside the basilica, including the dazzling gold-laden mosaics that adorn its domed interior and ceilings. Having saved ourselves precious time with our privileged skip-the-line access, we’ll also manage to squeeze in a climb up to the famous terraces of St. Mark’s. Rarely included on guided tours, these terraces offer beautiful views over the piazza and the rooftops beyond.

Next, we will accompany you to the Gondola Station, where you’ll begin our 30-minute gondola tour of the waterways with a real local gondolier. You’ll start on Venice’s main thoroughfare, the much-traveled Grand Canal, where we’ll see such sights as Santa Maria della Salute Church, a 17th-century Baroque building constructed by lucky plague survivors to thank God for sparing their lives. Next, you will veer off down the quieter minor canals where we’ll float lazily by more iconic city sights and under its famous bridges. You will catch views of the dazzling Fenice Opera House and Theatre, the former home of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in Venice, the magnificent Church of San Moisè and the gothic style Bauer Palace.  With group sizes limited to only 24 people or less and headsets provided, participants will find it easy to not only hear but also interact with their guide. Join us for this fascinating two-way tour, which shows you the best of the Floating City by both land and water.

Type of Service: Venice Foodie Walking Tour with Progressive Dinner through Cannaregio - Discover one of Venice's most authentic and traditional neighborhoods by eating your way through it!

Our Progressive Dinner Tour through Venice’s Cannaregio neighborhood visits at least 5 tasting locations in this historic community. Full portion tastings plus wine, enough for a full dinner, are included in the ticket price and offer many samples of Venetian delicacies.

We start by offering the top three most important traditional foods in the city.  These recipes date back 500 years and are still eaten daily by Venetians.  We feel it is very important to share these with you because it helps offer a greater understanding of Venice and her people.  As many traditions erode away, Venetians hold tightly to their culinary ones, knowing that it is vital to maintaining a connection to the past, and what better way to do that than through food.   You will learn about all of the Venetian foods as you walk from bacaro to bacaro to eat them.

From there, it’s on to a traditional trattoria for more authentic Venetian dishes such as risotto and fritto misto, mixed fried seafood.

Then, we move on to gelato, because you are in Venice and it’s required by law to have at least a gelato per day.  We’ll help you meet that quota.

Finally, we end along the Grand Canal for the proper Venetian Spritz.

Between tastings, you’ll receive a behind-the-scenes look at one of Venice’s most intriguing neighborhoods.  You will meet the chefs and the cooks, the owners and the servers.  We will share our expertise of local customs and eclectic folklore so you can have an authentic Venetian experience.

Type of Service: Best of Venice walking tour including Doge's Palace and St. Mark's Basilica

Our Best of Venice Walking Tour with Doge’s Palace and St. Mark's Basilica is perfect for visitors with only a limited time in Venice, who want to get a true taste of the city. In just a few hours we take you to the most famous sites of the city, seeing the Rialto Bridge and venturing inside St, Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace. We’ll also visit some quieter spots among the winding streets and piazzas of Venice, where you can get a feel for what it is to live in this floating city. Your tour starts at one of Venice’s must-see sights, the Rialto Bridge. Then it’s through the winding streets and over the tiny bridges of Venice as we delve into the heart of the city. Accompanied by an expert, English-speaking guide, you’ll see Marco Polo’s house and hear about the Venetian son who went to sea one day and came back with stories of China. Learn about the history and culture of Venice, from its beginning as an uninhabitable marsh, to one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations.

As you walk, you’ll encounter the lively piazzas of Campo SS Giovanni e Paolo and Campo Santa Maria Formosa, where Byzantine influences, Renaissance buildings, and modern structures tell the eclectic story of the city’s development.

Next, you will admire the Bridge of Sighs before coming to the heart of Venice – St. Mark’s Square, once pronounced the “finest drawing room in all of Europe” by Napoleon. With Skip the Line Access we’ll get straight inside St. Mark’s Basilica, saving precious vacation time that would otherwise have been wasted in line. Marvel at the diversity of Venetian culture, where eastern architecture and western design have blended to create a structure with an onion dome, before following your guide through the beautiful frescoes inside the basilica.

Special access means we’ll steal some extra time inside the basilica when we climb up to the first-floor terraces. Rarely included on guided tours, the terraces offer beautiful views over the piazza, photo opportunities and some down time to soak up everything you have learned on your walking tour.  One of the highlights of our tour comes at the end when we visit the Doge’s Palace. Once home to the Duke of Venice and the city’s courts, it is the center of Venetian history – and as one of the world’s oldest republics, that’s quite a history. We’ll explore all the best sights of the palace open to the public, from spectacular works produced on demand by artistic masters Tintoretto and Veronese, to the evidence of the genius checks and balances that made the republic so successful.

With your guide on hand to lead you through the most important rooms, to explain magnificent frescoes and to tell you the tales behind every nook and cranny, your visit to the Doge’s Palace will be the perfect way to wrap up your tour through the history and culture of Venice.
